Professional Calvin(TL;DR: I'm a content wizard and starting in on an MBA. Here's my LinkedIn. Portfolio below.)
After finishing my first master's in creative writing (have you figured out I like school?), I was hired by a social media start-up to create and manage all their copy. Jump-starting a business was intense, but I got a kick out of building user experience from the ground up. When the start-up was acquired, I struck out on my own as a freelance content specialist and an adjunct instructor of university-level writing. Fast-forwarding almost a decade and a half, I now work with clients ranging from start-ups (one of which is my own) to Fortune 50 corporations. To name-drop a few of the big fish, I've worked for and/or with the United Nations, EssilorLuxxotica, Harvard, and adidas®. I have the skills and experience necessary to help you and/or your businesses present your work distinctly and succinctly, and I'm working toward an MBA to ensure I'm on the cutting-edge. My job is to create and cultivate content that finds and resonates with your existing and future audiences. Whatever you call the type of writing you need -- content strategy, microcopy, UX writing, storytelling -- I'm here for it. PortfolioMy current work as a copyeditor for Harvard Business School Publishing is currently unavailable (we're so sneaky), but you can visit the Carrboro Family Vision website to peruse a redesign I led and/or check out a few snippets from big projects here:
Writing SamplesEditing SamplesThe best editors are invisible, and I've edited a wide range of writing: grant/funding proposals, literary journals, academic articles/dissertations, video scripts, EU reports, opera librettos (!!!), and business textbooks, to name a few.
Much of what I edit is under copyright and/or currently in production, but if you'd like to see some of my editing work you're welcome to contact me and request an excerpt. |
